2008 Events
Network Meeting
These meetings are held every 6 weeks
and give youth leaders and BCYS the chance to support one another, share
ideas and good practice and make decisions about the events and activities
that run in our area. These meetings are well attended and really useful.

Drayton Manor Park
sponsored by the Andrew Robinson Young people's Trust Sat. May 9th. The
day starts with a youth Mass at St. Mary's RC Church at 8.30am
It's a Knockout
Our ever growing fun filled area event,
now in its 8th year! Come and join the fun enter a team from your parish
to compete in the bush tucker trails, go-carting, challenge course, Archery,
water games, bungee run and much more. The event includes camping, night
prayer round the bonfire, a BBQ and a youth Mass. The venue is Broadwater
Scout Campsite, Packington. The date June 19th - 21st. The information
pack will be available in January 2009.
Viney Hill Weekend Residential.
This area retreat is for all parish youth groups and caters for all ages.
The weekend includes caving, canoeing, quarry scramble, rafting, and a
night walk to see the wild boar! a bonfire, night prayer. Young youth
leaders from the area who have taken part in the VITAL course will be
running small groups through out the weekend. Your youth leaders will
be cooking!! A fantastic not to be missed weekend. The date is July 10th
- 12th. The information pack will be available in January 2009.

1) Discussion - "Friendship"
Encourages an exploration around friendship and what this really means
to YP today using clips from My Best Friends Wedding (12) Age 12+. Duration
1hr.
2) Arts & Crafts - "Banner making" Using felt & Hessian, design, make
and decorate your own banner to get your message across.
3) Arts & Crafts - Don't go it Alone - Get Connected Using Hamma Beads
to learn the importance That others play in our lives. We are all connected,
We are not alone- YP age 11-15yrs. Duration 1.5hrs..
4) Games - Sports Day All equipment necessary to provide a sports
day type event for up to 4 teams. - Age 10-13yrs.

at Night, Joy at Dawn" by Andrew Robinson
(Maria's
brother). This is Andy's
own honest and uplifting account of his journey in faith. Andrew was diagnosed
with cancer whilsttraining
for the priesthood. The book
was launched in Coventryat the Youth
Mass and all profits from sales are being given to the Andrew
Robinson Trust Fund to help disadvantaged young people inthe
