Birmingham Catholic Youth Service
AREA YOUTH OFFICER
The Birmingham Catholic Youth Service seeks to appoint enthusiastic and dedicated people to 2 posts in Catholic youth ministry in
Birmingham & Oxfordshire
Flexible 40 hours a week to include
weekends and evenings

(the Birmingham post is initially a part time appointment fixed for 1 year).
The successful applicants will join an existing team of youth officers working in other areas of the Archdiocese.
The main focus of work will be recruiting, training and supporting volunteer youth leaders and clergy in parishes,
as well as organising local events for young people in your area.
Ideal candidates for the roles will be committed to the ethos of the Catholic faith, be from the geographic area they wish to work in and hold a recognised qualification in community education/youth work
(if no qualification is held training may be required).

NEW STRUCTURE FOR YOUTH SERVICES

Many people took part in a consultation exercise in 2008
concerning the future of Diocesan youth services, and
His Grace the Archbishop recently issued a statement on the subject.
This can now be viewed on the
Diocesan & BCYS websites. The 'board' to which His Grace refers
now meets on a monthly basis and the notes from those meetings
are now available on the Diocesan website at
http://www.birminghamdiocese.org.uk
